The Thursday Murder Club (2025) is an entertaining English mystery comedy film based on Richard Osman’s popular novel of the same name. The story follows four friends living in a peaceful retirement community who share an unusual hobby: investigating unsolved murder cases. What begins as a fun intellectual pastime takes a serious turn when they suddenly find themselves dealing with a real murder mystery close to home.
The group consists of Elizabeth, a former intelligence agent; Joyce, a retired nurse; Ibrahim, a former psychiatrist; and Ron, a former trade union leader. Although they come from very different backgrounds, their friendship and combined experience make them an unexpectedly effective investigative team. When a suspicious death occurs in their community, the four friends decide to put their skills to the test and begin looking for answers.
As their investigation develops, the group uncovers clues, hidden relationships, and secrets that make the case increasingly complicated. They work alongside the local police while also following their own theories, often leading to humorous situations and unexpected discoveries. Their age and experience prove that solving a difficult mystery is not simply about physical strength—it can also require patience, observation, intelligence, and teamwork.
